Prof. Stephen Thomson, Associate Professor of New Testament, taught at Tyndale 1989 to 2017, and is known for encouraging students to interact with the biblical story from creation to new creation. His focus was on the areas of Gospel studies and Acts, historical Jesus studies, the letters of Paul (particularly Romans and Galatians), and Revelation.
In honour of his 2017 retirement, The Prof. Stephen Thomson Legacy Fund has been created to enable his generous spirit of meaningful mentorship to continue. The goal is to create a $300,000 endowment fund to annually enable:
- A bursary to encourage a Tyndale University College student who is passionate about the Bible.
- An annual symposium to further academic interaction with the New Testament.
- Faculty to regularly engage with students through mentoring over lunch or coffee break.
Donations from Alumni of $100 or more can be included on the Alumni Wall in Alumni Hall.
Donations of $200 or more will receive a limited edition Prof. Stephen Thomson bobblehead-figurine as a keepsake reminder of the impact he has had on your life and through Tyndale University College.
